I am an agriculture scientist and photographer currently living in Greensboro, North Carolina. I’ve been working as a scientific technician, lab manager, and educator for over 15 years, and love being a part of the scientific process. Agriculture science field work lets me get sweaty and dirty while doing meaningful work aimed at providing useful information to small farmers and growers using integrated pest management practices.
I started photography as a way to create educational materials for scientific presentations, and my primary focus is macro photography of insects and plants. Digital and print copies of my photos are for sale. If you’d like to use my photos for educational or research purposes I will give you a limited license if you email me your request. Please be specific about what photos, or what subject you’re interested in using.
In my free time, I am a member of Nature Check, a group of scientists playing games online with the aim of showing scientists are not as stuffy as the public might believe! Old episodes of our Dungeons and Dragons game are available on YouTube and in podcast form wherever you get your podcasts. Catch us live every other Sunday on Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/naturecheckdnd
